Dr. Oldemar Rodríguez Rojas, Professor at the National University and the University of Costa Rica, received the “Clodomiro Picado Twight” National Science and Technology Award in 2000 and the Gold Medal from the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva, Switzerland) in 2004 in recognition of his outstanding achievements as an inventor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics from the University of Costa Rica, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, a Ph.D. in Decision Mathematics from Université Paris PSL, France, and completed postdoctoral research in the Department of Statistics at Stanford University in California. In administrative positions, he served as Director of the Graduate Program in Mathematics, Dean of the Faculty of Science, member and Director of the University Council, and Vice President for Administration, all at the University of Costa Rica.
